Hey everybody, in this tutorial I will be teaching you how to create a cool grungy signature using the picture of a city skyline.
Pre Step: Before we begin find an skyline image. I've chosen this picture of the LA skyline to use for this tutorial.
Step 1: Open up a new document the size you want your signature to be. I've chosen the size 375x160px. Any size will work.
Step 2: Insert and resize your image to the sig. You can resize your image easily by pressing CRTL+T, holding shift, and shrinking the box.
Step 3: Now lets get rid of all the color. Press CTRL+U and drag the saturation all the way to the left. This will make our image grey scale.
Step 4: Create a duplicate of the layer (CTRL+J) and add noise (filter>noise>add noise). Set the noise amount to 50%.
Step 5: Set the layer mode to soft light and lower the opacity to around 70%.
Step 6: Merge the two layers (ctrl+e) and create another duplicate. On the duplicate layer apply splatter (filter>brush strokes>splatter) with the following settings.
Step 7: Set the layer mode to overlay and lower the opacity to 70%.
Step 8: Apply graphic pen (filter>sketch>graphic pen) with the settings shown in the picture.
Step 9: Lower the opacity to 20%, merge, and duplicate.
Step 10: Apply radial blur to the duplicate with the following settings.
Step 11: Lower the opacity to 45%.
Step 12: Create 3 new layers. On the top one brush yellow #e9c813 like i did. On the middle one brush blue (#0bbbfc) like this: And on the bottom brush red (#fd2a00) like this:
Step 13: Set all three layer modes to color, add some text and your done. Here's how mine turned out.
