Perspective style Screenshots
This tutorial was written by the then owner of legittutorials.com . I bought the site and tutorials from him and have moved it to designertuts.com
In this tutorial, I will be teaching you how to design professional perspective style screenshots. Nice screenshots can make your articles/tutorials look 100% better. Template available in footer.
Quick Tip: Taking a Screenshot
To take a screen shot in windows simply press the "print screen" key (for the whole screen), or alt+print screen (for the active window), then paste it in photoshop.
For mac press "command+shift+4" then make a box around what you want the screen shot of. The screenshot will appear on the desktop.
Step 1: Acquiring The Shot
Before you take the shot, decide what size the image will be. I always use 600x300 pixels in size. Once you've decided, take a screen shot, a little bit larger then the desired size.
Step 2: Photoshop Work
Now that we have the screenshot we are going to use, open it up in photoshop. After that open a new document the size you decided on (600x300 pixels).
Unlock the screenshot (if needed), and drag it to the new document.
Press "ctrl+t" and scale it down to fit a little better.
Now for the perspective part. Go to "edit>transform>perspective" and pull on the points to get a cool perspective of the screenshot.
Step 3: Brushed Boarder
Now that we got our screenshot how we want it, lets put the finishing touches on it. Create a new layer. Grab a 160 pixel black soft brush, and brush all along the edges.
Now apply gaussian blur. Set the amount to 45.
Step 4: Saturation (option)
It looks pretty good already, but I like to saturate it a little bit before using it. To do this press "ctrl+u" and lower the saturation. Here's how man turned out.
