Create a Globe Icon for your website which can also be used a a basis for a logo.
Create a new 104 x 104 canvas. Fill in the backgrond with #D6D6D6. Go to your character map and look for the globe graphic. Select and copy it. Go back to photoshop, create a new text layer and paste it there (don’t forget to change your font setting to webdings). Use font color #1E8100 and font size 72.
Create a new layer below your text layer. Using your shapes tool, draw a white circle (making it the same size as your text). If your circle it too small or too big, just hold down CTRL + T (the transform tool) and resize it.
On the same layer, double click on it. A layer style window should appear. Fill in the following properties:
To find the actual colors I’ve used in the layer styles, copy right screen shots (right click > copy), paste in a new photoshop file, then use eyedrop tool click on the color
Go back to your text layer (the one with the webding font. Change it’s opactiy to 65%.
