In this tutorial you will be learning how to create a simple grungy/abstracty fractal signature. Lets begin.
Pre Step: Before we begin you're going to need some grunge and fractical brushes. I've posted a couple download links below.
Step 1: Open up a new document 400x180 pixels in size.
Step 2: Grab the paint bucket tool and fill the background a deep blue. I used the color #11294a.
Step 3: Create a new layer. Now crack open those fractal brushes, brush the top left corner once with a lighter brush. It should look like this:
Step 4: Create another new layer. This time brush the top left with a heavier fractal brush.:
Step 5: Create another new layer. This time brush all over the document using the grunge brushes I had you download. Use a mix of darks and whites.:
Step 6: Set the layer mode to overlay, and lower the opacity to 50%.:
Step 7: Create a new layer. Now grab a 400px soft brush and brush the bottom right of the document. Use a extremely dark blue. I used #071220.:
Step 8: Create a duplicate of the heavy fractical layer. On the duplicate apply gaussian blur (filter>blur>gaussian) with the following settings.:
Step 9: Set the layer mode to overlay.:
Step 10: Create another new layer and set your foreground color to #2d87ff. Now grab the gradient tool and select the foreground to transparent gradient. Fill the top left corner like I did.:
Step 11: Set the layer mode to color and lower the opacity to 25%.:
Step 12: Create a new vibrance adjustment layer (layer>new adjustment layer>vibrance). Turn vibrance all the way up to 50%.:
Step 13: Now you can add some text and a border and you're done. Here's how mine turned out.:
